Nothing delights the photographer using a traditional camera more, than discovering that the developed image of a familiar object or subject, has taken on hues and mysterious shadows that did not appear in the lens at the time the photo was taken. The mystery may be solved if one considers such factors as a fluctuating light source, refraction etc., sometimes however,  there is no explanation for the surprise result. "The truth is out there" - indeed!
